it is to bad you can't just get out! I live in the country and can not imagine having to live in the city

you must write again soon and tell us of the gift good or bad... my hubby is hit or miss on gifts sometimes he is brilliant like the mothers ring he got me once and then there is the miss like the garden hose he got me for my birthday in january!

Yes I agree there isn't enough random kindness in the world. If every person could do one thing each week or even month, the world would be am much nicer place!

*You can complain, that's what your mdd friends are for*. Make sure you let it all out afterall that's what your journal is for...sometimes I think in the whole community of mdd we forget what we are really supposed to be doing here!!!

I do find that I tend to either write an entry or read entries and I do miss some these days I'm afraid, with lack of time.

cars are a necessary evil aren't they. Earlier in the year, my car floated away outside my sons school in a flash flood. I had so much stuff in it (all my college stuff as I had come straight from there, all my back up stuff on my usb drive as my computer had died and this was my only copy!), brand new mobile, wallet etc etc. All lost, it was a friggin nightmare. But what was worse, was it was actually my husbands car, mine broke down for like the 20th time this year, that morning. Mine is a heap of sh*t and it's insured for way more than it was worth. If it had been my car we would have been laughing. Life is so unfair. We were were off because it was my husbands and lost all the contents also which aren't covered my insurance.

Hate cars but can't live without them.

Im sorry you are homesick. I have been homesick for years, for the place I lived before where I am now. It's only an hour away but I hardly ever get to go there due to having a child and so on. It's by the beach and I miss it so much. Where I live is so - suburbia type family but everyone is very money focused and works long hours and so on, I hate it.  I don't actually feel homesick for people though, being not much of a  people person myself and I certainly don't miss my 'family' as I have been out of contact with them for years. Im sorry you feel sad, I hope things improve soon.

Thanks for sharing it. I knew you lived in an unsafe place as I think you posted that in response to my question about guns the other day but thank you for this information. Do I agree? Not totally? I see your point but we have been  brought up real differently here and it's hard to get your head around it. I just think if guns were illegal some of these people who have gone and shot loads of innocent people like the recent uni shooting case, they may not have been able to access a gun so easily and it may not have happened. If someones gonna kill someone they probably will find a way with or without a gun but they have less chance of destroying more people in one go. Also, you're right of course, there are still 'badies' running around with guns in Australia too. THose hardened criminals will access guns no matter WHAT the law. Im not really even focusing on them, Im focusing on the people who have mental illness or are very mixed up and do stupid things because it's so easy to get access and they aren't thinking clearly. Im convinced some of those deaths would be avoided if guns weren't so available.  But hey - we live in different countries with different values and I don't want to get into a debate about it and I really appreciate and value and definitely understand your explanation - the wild animals thing would scare the crap out of me!

whats the gun stuff?  Here is Australia we think things are crasy in the US with all the gun stuff. over here they are illegal and I think it's better that way but I have had many a debate with Americans who disagree.....I would like to know your thoughts and why you feel you need a gun (maybe I missed something but I have been away for so long and haven't read all the back entries yet).

RYN: I did consider quitting my job. I talked to kay about it and he said we should discuss it with MiL. We did and she said, "well if you want to quit, that would be a lot of help to me too but once you quit then you shouldn't be asking for stuff that you need"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I think if I quit i'll be miserable.. .i won't even get what I need for me or for my son.
